ARB manufactures a large range of 4x4 accessories, including bull bars, winches, lights, snorkels, side rails and towing bars.
Their mascot is “Fourby” a unique cartoon character with his own comic strip. Arid Zone was briefed to design and produce a plush toy version of “Fourby” with endearing features designed to make him a memorable, collectable, loveable brand reminder. The target market was an easy one - kids and “big kids”
Working with images available from the comic strip we commenced 3D modelling - paying particular attention to “googly” eye, massive tyres and a lopsided grin. A 3D template was translated to a fabric pattern, followed by swatch selections to match the corporate PMS colours. High level detail was required to best illustrate the accessories on the toy; transfers of mag wheels and embroidered spot lights and winch. The initial sample only required minor adjustments before “Fourby” the plush toy was born!
ARB were extremely excited by the quality and detail of the their mascot and were pleasantly surprised with the “fabulous "level of detail we were able to incorporate. He is sold through ARB’s 43 Australian company owned stores and is moving towards their top 15 sales items. AS a testament to “Fourbys’ success, his girlfriend “Ariel” has recently been created !
